Three to five field trips a week into Atlanta and beyond.
The Delta Flight Museum, the Georgia State Capitol, the public library, the High Museum, the Botanical Garden, the bowling alley, the pool hall on Tuesdays. Some places we visit once. Some have become a Wednesday tradition.
Every outing is small enough that staff knows everyone, and large enough that there's always someone new to sit with.
A regular practice of making something with your own hands.
Painting, gardening, weaving, simple woodworking, music sessions. Each Studio morning has a single project and enough open time for members to take it wherever they want.
We display finished work at The Center year-round and auction selected pieces at the annual Spring Benefit.
Time outside, time moving, time laughing with friends.
Bowling, arcades, walks at Centennial Park, the accessible playgrounds at Stone Mountain and Brookrun, water aerobics in summer.
We pick activities that meet every member where they are—seated and standing, mobility devices and not, every level of stamina welcome.
Tradition is how a community remembers itself.
The annual Halloween Bash. Valentine's Day with the balloon arch and the photo wall. Pumpkin carving in October. The gingerbread house build in December. Birthdays for every member, every year.
The unglamorous, important work of an adult life. Practiced patiently.
Personal care, money sense, reading practice, computer time, cooking together, transit literacy. We follow the lead of each member's goals and family wishes.
Some members work on one specific skill for a year. That's fine. We have time.
Whether you're an adult exploring the program, a family member, a caseworker, or a community partner—start with a conversation. We respond within two business days.
